Become a dog whisperer. Become a dog whisperer.

A well-trained dog is a happy dog. And a well-trained dog means a happy owner. So show your dog how much you care by enrolling in our Dog Manners classes. For dogs and puppies more than four-and-a-half months old, our classes use positive reinforcement. No need for choke collars, pinch collars, or shock collars!

Classes are limited to six dogs to allow each one plenty of one-on-one time with our trainers—all of whom are experienced members of APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers). Classes are held in the evening in the auditorium of the Austin Humane Society. New sessions begin each month, and each course lasts four or seven consecutive weeks, so please check the calendar and join us!

  • $50 for dogs adopted from the Austin Humane Society or Town Lake Animal Center (FOUR WEEK CLASS)
  • $55 for dogs not adopted from AHS or TLAC (FOUR WEEK CLASS)

Class Description: Learn to train with a fun reward based method that helps to build a trusting relationship between you and your dog. Some of the things you will learn are Sit, Down, Watch and Leave It. Think of all the things your dog can't do while practicing one of these good behaviors, such as jumping on children, charging the door, or clearing the coffee table with his tail! We also teach the very important life-saving Recall.

Here's our Dog Manners class schedule for 2011. Class space is limited so if you are interested in signing up, please contact us at the email or phone number below. Thanks!
