If you have kids under fourteen that want to be involved with AHS, then we have the program for you! Our Humane Heroes Program is designed to get kids that are too young to volunteer with AHS involved with the animals!
Individual children can help the animals through Humane Heroes by fundraising, creating toys for the animals, collecting donated items from our wishlist, and much more! For additional questions, please contact email@example.com today! To get started as a Humane Hero, download the Humane Hero Packet now!
Groups, such as school classes, teams, troops, etc, can also participate in Humane Heroes! You can help AHS by fundraising, collecting donated items from our wish list, and making toys for our animals. On a limited basis, we also offer Humane Hero educational talks to groups, where a member of our staff will come to your location to talk to the kids about shelter animals as well as how to properly meet and greet animals. The kids always have fun, and so do the pets that come along for the ride!
Do you want to Request a Tour?
We love it when you visit our shelter! If you would like to schedule a children’s tour of the Austin Humane Society, please contact our Events Coordinator, Hannah Packard at firstname.lastname@example.org. We recommend groups no larger than 15 at a time. Tours typically last one hour.
