Donations are critical to help us run and manage the Austin Humane Society.
Parents, students and teachers - consider holding a “Wish List” drive at your school or with your Girl Scout or Boy Scout Troop!
All donations of personal property are considered on a case-by-case basis.
The following types of donations are encouraged:
- Cash
- Vehicles
- Gift cards to PetSmart, Petco, Target and Sam's Club
- Canned dog, puppy, cat, and kitten food
- KMR (Kitten Milk Replacement)
- Meat baby food (beef, lamb, chicken)
- Store bought dog and cat treats
- Non-clumping cat litter
- Crates (all sizes, especially small cat crates)
- Non-spill stainless steel bowls
- Hard rubber and activity dog toys
- Cat toys
- Heating pads
- Dog shampoo
- Paper towels
- Peanut Butter (Creamy)
Items that cannot be accepted by the Austin Humane Society:
- Dry dog and cat food (These items can be donated directly to the Pet Food Bank, click here for more information)
- Homemade dog and cat treats
- Expired medications and pill bottles
- Plastic litter pans or bowls
- Shock, prong, or choke collars
- Over the counter flea treatments
- Grooming supplies
- Newspapers and shredded paper
- Used computer equipment older than 2 years and/or not in good working condition
