Costs and Benefits
The adoption fee is $85 for all dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.
Dogs and cats that have been with us for longer than 3 to 4 months may belong to our "Lonely Hearts Club," whose adoption fee $65. Adoption fees may be paid by cash or debit/credit card, no checks are accepted.
When you adopt a cat or dog from the Austin Humane Society, your new companion comes with more than you know:
- Pets have been vaccinated for many diseases (puppies and kittens have received their first set but may need more)
- General health and behavior screening
- All dogs and cats, including puppies and kittens, already spayed/neutered
- 24 Hour Pet Watch Micro Chip
- All have animals have been de-wormed
- Midtown Grooming Certificate
- Cat/Dog Food Samples and Coupons
- Free rabies vaccination, and post surgical and wellness check from a participating veterinarian
- Staff support if you have questions or comments about your pet
- A lifetime companion
